As long as we're all confessing, I save my bacon grease too. There's lots you can cook in it and it gives a great flavor.

This is one of my favourite meals, regardless of the time of day. I love that you made it local - and added some jam!

When I saw the (lovely) picture, my first thought was "where's the jam?" Good to read that your toast wasn't naked. Everything looks delicious.

Oh yes, and we always save our bacon grease to cook eggs & potatoes in. You just can't beat it!

We love having eggs & hashbrowns for a quick meal. We also enjoy omlets filled with whatever bounty I can find at the farmer's market, lately it's been mushrooms, onions, potatoes and sharp cheddar cheese - MMMMM.

The yellow color of the eggs is just magical! We just had a very similar meal Friday night, trying to use up CSA leftovers and all of the other non-local leftovers in the fridge. I hadn't thought about saving bacon grease, as a local cooking aid; I will have to try that.
