I purchased this kit at target a few weeks ago and really enjoyed my first canning experience this year. I was very hesitant, as I've never done this , but after purchasing my husbands grandmothers house and finding over 300 old canning jars, various shapes and sizes, I have realized she was on to something. My very first garden this year is overwhelming me with it's over abundance of yumminess and I have had to learn how to can to hold on to it all. I have done 12 jars of bread and butter pickles so far and am looking forward to more!

I have grown my own tomatoes this year, but thinking about getting canning tomatoes from the local farmers. Now I know what 30 lbs. of tomatoes look like. We just did 14 pints of stewed tomatoes with vegetables on Saturday. Two gallons of chopped tomatoes were processed. Yeah!
