Hi Marissa!

Thanks for the response.

I did make both versions of pickled onions the other night too. Deb's pickled onions were delicious, but the Orangette recipe just wasn't for me. I still have them in my fridge. My Mom is coming down in a few weeks, and I think she might like them.

Thanks for the reminder on the giardiniera... I meant to make that too. I'm still debating making the pickled grapes she made recently though. I don't know how I feel about pickled grapes.

Sarah, sorry to hear that the Orangette recipe didn't work for you. I admit, I've yet to get to it, as I've been busy with work and the basic cooking of life. I'm really uncertain about Deb's pickled grapes. I'm really not sure they will float my boat, but I'm feeling tugged in their direction despite my skepticism. -Marisa

I love this website. I love canning jars too, and I'm always looking for new things to can, ferment, pickle, or otherwise preserve.

Keep doing what you're doing, because I need the inspiration.

I'm going to make a quick red onion pickle to go with a "faux gras" I made for dinner, but you're inspired me to make Orangette's pickled onions too.

Try Deb's quick pickled onions:

They're delicious on sandwiches. Especially on this sandwich from Dorie Greenspan:

Sarah, all Deb's pickles are on my list of recipes I want to try out. She did a giardiniera a couple of years ago that I can't get out of my mind. Also, definitely let me know if there's something you'd like to see here or if you have questions! -Marisa
